What are the basics of Next Generation?
Practice
Twirling is a sport, and just like any sport, it takes practice to get better! All students will be held to high expectations during class and performances, so it is essential that the skills we learn together are practiced at home. On this team, “can’t” is not allowed; we just “haven’t done it YET.” Students will be expected at all practices. If you have to miss a payment, just let us know ahead of time.
When do we practice?
We have class Monday nights to learn basic skills, a parade routine, and group and individual routines. All girls are expected to follow our YouTube channel to stay updated on routines and practice at home. Location and times are subject to change, and therefore sent after registration.
Batons
At the first class, students will be measured from the arm pit to the tip of the middle finger. We will likely add 1-2 inches, depending on how much they are likely to grow and how long they prefer their baton.
Attire
Students should plan to wear comfortable, workout-style clothing at all practices. Please wear sneakers, no jeans or skirts, and keep jewelry to earring studs and athletic watches.
Hair
Students should come to all classes with a ponytail and stray hairs out of their face. Long hair should be pulled into a bun. Please ask if you are unsure how to do this.
